SWCC NE4100-comp Ethernet card problem

After read the howto, I added one to the /etc/pcmcia/config
And reboot it says 'Cant find hardware address'
So I mapped the adapter card to a memory_cs, but the content of /dev/mem0a is none! Method 2(hardwiring) is just the same:'Cant find hardware address'
And there's another error msg on boot says like 'Slot 1: device not exist'(It's slot n when i inserted the card into slot n)
Thx f ur help
