Suse 9.3/Another kernel 2.6.11 distro with a Dell Inspiron?

Hi,
I'm using Suse 9.2 and consider upgrading to 9.3 because I could get Suspend to ram/disk with NVidia driver working (with vbetool Suse 9.3 has). BUT I started recently Knoppix 3.8 on my Inspiron 5150, which has also kernel 2.6.11, and my keyboard didn't work.

So I'm actually afraid of upgrading to kernel 2.6.11 because of this issue. Has anyone already successfully running Suse 9.3 on a Dell Inspiron?

PLEASE DON'T POST RANTS I KNOW DELL IS SH*T THEIR LAPTOPS HAVE THE MOST CRAPPIEST BIOSES EVER BUILD ETC. ETC.

I'd try Ubuntu 5.04. This message is coming from a Kubuntu 5.04 install on an Inspiron 6000, and nearly everything including wireless worked out of the box on first boot.

well, not all dells are $***, dimension/poweredge(run fc3 on a 1999 pe2450)/precision are fine, top of the line inspiron works, but yeah, the 1000, 1100 (me-winxp), 1150, 5100, 5150, 5160 are CRAP
