I'm considering making the switch from Windows XP to Linux SUSE 10 [I've got to the stage where I hate Microsoft with a passion!]. I've been trying to determine, if possible, whether anyone has successfully installed and operated SUSE on a Compaq Laptop [Compaq 800] before I attempt to install. Any assistance welcome!!!
It could be a heck of a journey. I looked at a few of the reviews for that pc and see quite a lot of the words "propreitary interface," and "poor," and "lack of."
Seems they didn't follow the industry standards, and also that people say the computer in general is pretty crappy?
You can certainly give it a shot but a lot of the "we just decided to make our own interface" sort of computers just crap out on hardware detection.
