[SOLVED] Sony Vaio SVE1112M1EW with Debian Wheezy starts for few seconds and shuts up.

Hello everybody,

Yesterday my Vaio made a short buzzling sound and after shut off. I attempted to start it again but the result was the same - after showing the screen thats loading the Grub it shuts off. Today I tried again and it booted successfully, but after i logged in to my account it shut off again. Yesterday along with the two shut off there was also short mechanical sound.

Does anybody know where might be the problem and I would appreciate any advice.

Welcome to LinuxQuestions.

My first guess would be the cooling fan. Either it is clogged with dirt or is failing. See what happens when you try cleaning the computer.

It was definitely the fan. We also found an inspection sticker inside and it probably made that sound. Thanks again.
