Smartlink over Toshiba A20-S207

Hello out there,
I'm a newbie in linux. I have recently install suse 9.2 with kde 3.3 . My laptop has a Smartlink Modem at slamr0 as i can see while hardware initialises in the background. The problem is that i can't connect to the internet using dialup either because i havent configured correct something or due to that i dont have the correct drvers for my modem. Can someone give me a piece of advice? Thanks
P.S Since i am new to linux please use as "lighter" language as possible
