I have an 'EasyNotebook' running Windows CE 6.0 on a built-in 2GB flash drive and 128MB RAM. There is no CD drive but there are USB ports and a SD card slot. I find Win CE extremely limited for my own purposes. I do a lot of word processing and netbrowsing but although the system has Wifi built-in that can connect to hotspots, I cannot install software to access mobile broadband via a USB modem. I would like to replace the OS with a Linux OS. Is there a Linux OS that will run with these specifications? Is it advisable to replace Win CE with Linux for my machine? Would I be able to do it with a bootable USB disk or would I need to download a Linux OS directly from the Internet? Thanks.

Hello and thanks to those who responded. I will check out your suggestions. I have had this 7" notebook for 2 years now - at the time I got it, I was looking for something really small and light and it was the only one small enough to meet my requirements and only came with Win CE. A few months later a Linux version appeared and I could have kicked myself. Now these things even come with Android! Anyway, thanks again.
