pure HD install, how?

something is wrong with the HD installer for DSL and SliTaz. but SliTaz doesnt use kernel 2.4 its 2.6 anyways. then once i do try to hd install it is very hard to get my computer to boot from my hard drive, with the DSL/Slitaz installed hard drive plugged in. i fried the first hard drive coaxing it to let me boot with my hard drive, so i am being extra careful this time. i got it to boot but its not showing up in the my computer

The grub for dsl and I think the harddrive install from the menu only works on the first partition on the first internel drive. I think you can copy the linux24 kernal file and initrd file to a directory and point to it with grub if you already have grub installed to boot dsl, but not sure.
