Problem initializing GUI with Bitdefender live RescueCD (Invalid loop location: /rescue/livecd.squashfs)
Hi,
I am facing a peculiar problem and require help! Firstly, I am totally a noob at linux. I was trying to initiate a live RescueCD that is available by my antivirus vendor Bitdefender via a flash drive in my laptop. The problem is, things went fine with the initialization and then suddenly I would get a prompt of "Ignoring BGRT ..... Invalid loop location: /rescue/livecd.squashfs".
The rescueCD is am using is available here. After downloading the ISO, I flashed it on a SanDisk Ultra 3.0 32GB flash drive using FAT32 file format as referred to here. Then came the big challenge - I ran the drive on my desktop and it worked like a charm but when I inserted the same in my laptop (HP 15-R014TX, preinstalled Win 8.1 currently upgraded to Win 10) it refuses to load the GUI and gives me this error.
Can anyone please get me a way out of this so that I can load it in my laptop as well? Any tweaks that might be needed? And after Bitdefender's Stickifier failed me, I tried Rufus v2.9 as well but in vain. Shall I move to Clonezilla or stuff like that (need help though)? Please advise. If you require any more information or details please ask me.
What tasks do you want to execute with the live cd?
You can use any other Live CD/DVD for that task.
Like:
Live mode of Ubuntu DVD
Systemrescuecd
Gentoo minimal CD
Gentoo Live DVD
Keruskerfuerst, I want to use the standalone antivirus that Bitdefender provides along with this LiveCD. But in order to use it I need to have access to it's GUI mode, which isn't loading in my laptop as mentioned earlier. This helps me remove some nasty Windows viruses/malwares without having to boot into Windows (pretty much like a pre-bootup scan) which can't be removed if I'm logged into Windows due to some restrictions maybe. I have uploaded snaps of the entire files and folders written to my flash drive extracted from the ISO here. Please advice. Thanks.
There is avast free anti-virus that has such a scan option - pre-boot scan. It clears filesystem good enough.
Install it (if you have no any other AV installed), schedule scanning at Windows start-up and reboot.
If you have any other anti-virus installed you have to uninstall it before installing avast.

Teufel, Bitdefender's heuristic engine is better than Avast and most other companies as rated by top AV comparison sites. Thanks for your solution though. But any idea if this particular issue can be solved in any way?
