I have an HP DV6-2043CA laptop. So far I've dual booted Win 7 + Mandriva, Ubuntu and Sabayon. I forget why I dumped Mandriva, but neither Sabayon or Ubuntu would come to life after a snooze; maybe some configuring to do that I'm not aware of. Sabayon on for now; also no sound.
The snooze issue may have to do with how your system is set to hold the memory when put in snooze state, you can try to modify the options in your bios to see if it was a bios arguments that is causing the issue. Additionally since you report problems with audio and this is a quite new laptop there may not be Linux kernel drivers for you onboard audio at this time.
