OpenGL on IBM ThinkPad R50e with Gentoo.

The computer contains intel 82852/855GM Intergated Graphics Device.
As we can see here (www DOT plenz DOT com/thinkpad_R50e), i need to use i915 driver.
"As /usr/share/doc/xserver-xfree86/README.i810 confirms the i810 driver has no 3D accelleration. But to enable hardware accelleration nevertheless you have to load the kernel module i915."
I have been attempting to find this kernel module by google, but not found. And i need an explanation about i915 and how it loads, works, what to do before i would be able to load it (sompile, move to some dir...); what software must load them etc. The knowledge-area of "i915"
Also i do not know what is "DRI", "speedo", "glx".
I just want to taste beryl
Thanks.

This kernel module is included in kernel.

Code:
Symbol: DRM_I915

   Location:
     -> Device Drivers
       -> Character devices
         -> Direct Rendering Manager (XFree86 4.1.0 and higher DRI support)
           -> Intel 830M, 845G, 852GM, 855GM, 865G
