Network Card Issues on an IBM Thinkpad
Hello,
I am currently running Slackware 10.2 on an IBM Thinkpad 760XD. I have a PCMCIA ethernet card which is recognized perfectly and uses the RTL8139 chipset. Slackware recommended I use the module 8139too, and so far the module loads properly. However, when I enter
ifconfig eth0 up
in the console, I get
SIOCSIFFLAGS: Device or resource busy
After much research, I found that many people said the solution was to enter the BIOS and turn off PnP OS, however, if any of you have seen the BIOS configuration screen on a 760XD, you will know that that doesn't seem to be an option. When running dmesg it tells me:
"PCI: No IRQ known for interrupt pin A of device 01:00.0. Please try using pci=biosirq."
But even that didn't seem to work.
Any suggestions?
P.S. The processor is a 166 MHz Pentium MMX i486, if that helps.
