needed help for opengl in kubuntu


hey geeks
well just updated from gnome to kde in ubu 10.10
i m using msi cr400
2gb ram ddr2
500 hd
256 nvidia 8200 m g gpu

i scroll to desktop configuration n found that it is using opengl rather then nvidia graphics

plz help me regard the same...

Have you installed the nvidia driver? If not, do so if you have, then have a look at your xorg.conf file.

yes bro i have installed driver n then configure it but strangely it is stating that nvidia driver for opengl can they both be working togather ??

OpenGL is just a 3D API. The nvidia driver provides an interface for your video card to run applications using the OpenGL API.

Hm... You're right... I thought that too, then found this link and didn't read it properly and assumed from the title that meant there were actual "OpenGL drivers" as opposed to "OpenGL-compatible drivers". Oops
