Need Help in getting the graphic Up on Switchable Graphics
Hi all,
I tried to get the graphic up on my hp pavilion dv6-6017tx. But using the default graphic it is working fine. I tried to install ati radeon drivers (AMD/ATI Radeon HD 6770M) and it installed correctly, but when i run ati-config it is showing an error message that there is not compatible graphic card present.
Please help me in setting the switchable graphic card.
I tried to customize and recompile the kernel but i failed to do it as i am not so good kernel customization.
They come with almost all distros by default. The downloading and installing drivers is more a Windows thing, Linux has most drivers by default. You have to do that only in special cases, for example when your hardware is either very new, somewhat exotic or the manufacturers deliver closed source drivers with better performance (like AMD and NVidia).
When you need help to get the free driver to work please post the relevant information:
Which distribution in which version are you using?
Which hardware are you using?
Which problems are you having? this includes exact commands you launched and exact error-messages you get.
