mobile AMD Athlon 4 noisy fan in Slack 10.2

Hi,

Could someone help me?

I've a mobile AMD Athlon 4 and I'd like to use a Slack 10.2. But the fan it's very noisy!

In the windows the fan works well, without noise.

I tried to recompile the kernel 2.6.16.2 to support ACPI and CPU freq built-in, without results*. With only APM the result it's the same*:

*cat /proc/acpi/info --> no no no no...

I tried to install and 'configure' cpuspeed, cpufreqd, cpufreqdutils-xxx with no results - the fan works so much yet!
There's support in the Slackware 10.2 to my PC? What I'm doing wrong?

Thanks

Read my homepage (Link in my sig). It has a script to shut off the fan. Change them as you need to get it to work on your system.

No, not worked.

I tried to recompile the kernel 2.6.16 to support ACPI, disabling APM by BIOS, but the cooler it's working so much yet.

I tried to fix my DSDT table, but the cooler it's working hard yet.

Then, I'll try to install the Linux Suse 10.0.

Someone has another idea????

Thanks at all!

Hi everyone!

I consulted www.tuxmobil.org and I discover that other users have the same problem. My notebook's model: ECS (Elitegroup Computer Systems) A535. My solution it's was to replace the cooler, following the manufacter's recommendations on www.ecs.com.tw

My Slackware Linux now it's coooooool!

Thank's at all (and no more noisy coolers )
