Mandriva Flash 4GB - Boot Hangs

I'm completely a new bee to Linux OS. I think I really need somebody to help resolve this problem.

I purchased Mandriva Flash 4GB recently. I tried to boot it on my HP Pavilion dv6000t series (Intel core 2 duo T5600 with 1GB RAM). I pressed 'esc' to change the booting option and selected USB hard drive. I get a blue screen displaying Mandriva. Immediately it hangs. I pressed esc button to see the installation progress in verbose mode. I can see a error message "Remounting root file system in read-write mode: Function not implemented" followed by "Setting up logical management: No volume groups found."
There was an ISO file that I burned onto a CD and tried booting, but no luck. I made sure that my USB mouse and other USB connections are removed before booting. I couldn't get any help from the site. There were no customer care numbers and strangely so called support center emails are getting bounced back.

Thanks in advance,
Panala.

Lets see if I can help, I have the dv6000 also, but with the Turion64x2 and same ram. I tried mandriva 2006 powerpack, and other than a power management problem, it ran fine. If there is still a problem... I dunno...
