Linux an Ipaq3600 and ide-pcmcia

I got a Ipaq3670 with Familiar Linux, and I have a Toshiba 5gig ide-pcmcia drive
and it is formatted with a ext2 filesystem, and it is being detected and reconized,
but is having problems with the ext2 format, it is looking for a vfat filesystem.
What packages would I need to install to read the ext2 filesystem, e2fsprogs. etc.

Thanks
jim
