Check to make sure your computer is not overheating. Overheating is often a result of the environment that the computer is in. ... Third-party software is often the culprit for computer freezes. Run a quick scan to see if all of the software on your computer has the latest version of the software installed.

Hi,

I've got a similar problem with a dual video laptop.. It has a 10th gen Intel Core I7 10875H (UHD graphics) and a Geforce RTX 2060.

I did have random lockups with Mint 20.. This was fixed by upgrading the kernel to the latest version (using mainline-gtk). Mint 20 & 20.1 are now rock solid.

I also multiboot to other Linux distro's. I'm currently looking to move this laptop to Artix Linux and Slackware as I don't like systemd.

I'm still getting the occasional lockup in Artix, so I view this as WIP so far. This is why I'm having to keep Mint for now. I'll look at Slackware as soon as I've finished getting Artix working properly.
