Kernel Compile for Toshiba A75

I would like to compile a kernel optimized for a Toshiba A75 laptop. It is a Pentium 4 with ATI Radeon 9100 IGP and Atheros wireless. I guess the A75 uses Phoenix Bios and not the Toshiba proprietary. I am starting with Mandriva 2008. Does anyone have a good .config that works well with this laptop? I tried to make the changes I thought were applicable and the newest kernel runs OK, but on boot I get a slowdown at the HAL daemon and there is an error during hardware detection, but I don't have the specific error in front of me right now.

Thanks!
