ipw2200 on Mandrake 10 on Asus M5200N not working

I am a newbie and have gone cold turkey (except to post this) from windows and so far things have been going well and i am learning lots, except for the this one thing which is driving me insane. I have found lots of information on many websites and forums on how to install the ipw2200 driver and how to configure it, but being a newbie, none of it makes sense. I have tried linuxant dot com but the .inf file wouldnt upload. I have also tried NdisWrapper. whenever i try and "make" it, I just get errors. I try the tips sections and faq sections and that jazz but I have no idea what i am looking at so i do not know what to do. My request is if can someone could please post a very detailed, very thorough, very step-by-step how to guide for installing wireless on my Asus M5200N (sometimes callled M5N) that is running Mandrake. When i type "uname -r" i get:
2.6.11-6mdk-i686-up-4GB

Please help because without wireless on my laptop there is no reason to use it.
I thank you in advance.
