Angry Install probelm suse 8.2 on VAIO Notebook

I am trying to install Suse Linux 8.2 an a new VAIO PCG-FRV28
P4 2.8 G
512 ram

Installation stops shortly after hardware detection. Blank screen but graphic frame (the blue box around the text, but no text)
I tried alot things
safe mode, text mode, different graphic modes, manual installation, and those combined in all ways.
I also tried to install Red Hat 7.3 and it worked, but i want the suse since i bought it.

Any ideas anybody???

Check to see if the BIOS has legacy USB support enabled. That is usually a showstopper. I installed SuSE 8.2 on my Compaq 2170 with legacy USB support disabled, and everything went very smoothly.

i was reading somewhere that the firewire cards sometimes interfere with instalations. I know the sony has firewire so maybe you could try disabling onboard firewire in your bios and then enable after you have it installed?
