Unhappy IBM T41 screen goes blank

Hello,
I have IBM T41 thinkpad, running on redhat 9.0. I dont have any screen saver
any power management on.
Still my screen goes bank after 2 or 3 minutes of inactivity.
The only way to bring back the screen is press Fn+screen blank buttons (twice).
Result of this is a desktop which shrunk to a small size, that is it does not fit on to the full
laptop screen.
To bring back everything to normal stage, I have to logout. This brings the desktop
fitting to the full LCD screen. I have to login again and start my work all over again

I am running on millions of colors and 1024x768 resolution setting.
I dont know what is going wrong.
Any ideas ???
Nitin.
