I series thinkpad freezing during instalation

I'v been trying to install Mandrake 10 on a IBM Thinkpad i series and im having problems with it freezing at the second screen.
I boot from the CD and it says "press F1 for help" or "enter to install or upgrade". After that it goes to a screen saying.

"Welcome to Mandrake (10.0) mar 3 2004, 14.37.19"

<alt-F1> for here, <alt-F3> to see logs, <alt-F4> for kernel msg.

And thats where it freezes. Any idears ?

Thanks.
