The image you posted shows highlighted "G". The first major problem you have is that you have formatted it as 'ntfs' which is windows proprietary filesystem. If you were able to install Ubuntu there, it wouldn't work. You need to first format that partition from the Ubuntu installation device by using the GParted partition manager. The default filesystem for the current Ubuntu is ext4.
Ubuntu should give you several options under the "Installation Type" window. Since you already have a partition available, you should select the manual option for install which is labelled "Something Else". If you have problems, post back but there isn't much else anyone will be able to suggest without more details. What happens when you boot the Ubuntu install device, what messages or errors you see would be useful.
