I wasn't able to find glinfo and googling it kept referencing the command 'glxinfo' so I am assuming that is what you meant? Just let me know where I can install glinfo if I am in error. And glxinfo | grep GL_VERSION gave me no output so I submit my glxinfo output here below for your critique or approval.

I wasn't able to find glinfo and googling it kept referencing the command 'glxinfo' so I am assuming that is what you meant?
glinfo and glxinfo are different commands. glinfo is for OpenGL itself while glxinfo is for the GL X extensions. I have both commands on Manjaro.
Some distributions don't provide both commands. I came across a page where a Slackware user was complaining that glinfo was just a symlink to glxinfo. Elementary OS apparently just doesn't supply glinfo.
However glxinfo does provide info about the OpenGL library itself. You would use the following
