DVD support on Yellow Dog?!?

I have a ibook running Yellow Dog linux. I cannot get DVD to work to save my life. There are no entries in the fstab file, so obviously it's not being picked up at all at boot. I have searched until I start seeing double trying to find out how to make this damn dvd drive to work. Yellow Dog claims it is natively supported, but I think they are smoking crack.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

BTW -- The CD-Rom side works great.
