lnxrulz LQ Newbie Registered: Oct 2004 Posts: 3 Rep:	dell indspiron 8000 modem not dialing in Fedora core 2 dvd-rom not activated just installed fedora core 2 on dell inspiron 8000 the modem doesnt dial-up sound test is ok but doesnt play cd's and dvd-rom is recognized in the hardware browser as /dev/hdb and cdrom as /dev/hdc my question is in order to modify these devices and applications do i open terminal under system tools or is there another alternative totally new to linux so navigation is a challenge Dell Inspiron 8000 P3 1GHz 7000mhz 256k nvidia geforce2go 16mb ESS maestro 3 primary Hard drive 10056 mb Modular Bay CD-Rw Fixed optical Drive DVD-Rom pointing device Touchpad-PS/2 mouse Total newb thanx
