Compaq R3235EA & FC2

Hi guys,

I've some problem with my Compaq Presario R3235EA and Fedora Core 2.

The configuration is:
Pentium IV 2,8 Ghz
512 Mb DDR
HD 60 Gb
Chipset ATI IGP 9000 (video ram shared)
DVD+RW

First, I've non APM support...I've recompiled the 2.6.8.1 Kernel, and pass from bootloader the "apm=yes" option but It results: apm: No bios Found. It's so hurting, cause without apm functions, my notebook runs only for about one hour.

Second, I've no 3d acceleration under X. I try also ATI closed source driver but it slows all PC activities, and most of 3d applications (i.e. Quake 3) crash or lock my computer.

I'm wondering if someone had experience about theese problems and he found some hint to resolve it.

Thanx
