CD-ROM problems when installing Debian/Sarge

Hi all!
I'm trying to install Debain on a Dell Latitude CPi (an older one, PII) the problems I get is that when the debian-installer should start copying files from the CD it says it can't copy files from it, though the installer was booted on the CD. The problem maybe refers to this post: http://lists.debian.org/debian-boot/.../msg01324.html

But I can't figure out how to solve it. Any one with similiar experience with the Dell Latitude CPi?

I press Ctrl-F2 to get a new terminal and try to manullay mount the CD-ROM with:
$>umount /cdrom
$>mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 /cdrom
This enables me to "ls /cdrom" and I can see the files of the the debian cd, but switching back to ctrl-F1 and have the debian-installer retry gives the same error (Could not copy file from CD-ROM, retry?).

The solution to the problem as stated in the link above seems to refer to mount time-out values, but of what I can understand this is not my problem since I can mount the CD and indeed see the files myself? Why cant the debian-installer see the files? Is there any boot parameters or mount parameters that can solve the problem?

Any help/comments/feedback are highly appreciated!

/Rick
