and on a thread where someone mentioned difficulty installing ubuntu on it.
I would like to know can i run linux on it and also is anyone here running linux on this laptop.
If yes then how is the performance and are there any problems regarding drivers and such.
Also if you have recommendations with similar price range, please mention it.

I've had various motherboards and I've never had a problem installing and running linux on any of them. I even loaded openSUSE on my wife's ancient Dell laptop without a hitch.
I know that's not exactly what your asking but I would feel confident buying any pc or laptop to run linux.
I do have an MSI graphics card that works absolutely fine with either nouveau or nvidia driver.
Yes, you can. You'd probably want to run 16.04 though, as it will have the newer kernel, which means the newer Nouveau drivers, so would support the 950M better. Note that there are some issues with expanded power saving states on the Skylake chipsets that last I heard of, haven't been completely worked through on Linux, so there will be some work to get everything working 100%, but it should work.
