Battery Meter in Mandriva 2006

Well, I am to the point of living with not having a battery meter. I a running Mandriva 2006 on a Compaq Presario 2195US. Everything works with the exception of:

1. Battery Meter - shows battery not present
2. The 5 silver one-touch keys
3. The controls for brightening and dimming my display
4. The volume control keys
5. The laptop will not shut down. It gets to the point where the acpi calls for shutdown and nothing happens. I have to shut off manually.

I have tried everything I can think of. I have passed different options to the kernel on boot. I have tried rebuilding the kernel with a custom DSDT table. I have tried including custom DSDT tables in initrd. I have done everything except what I apparently need to do. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Danny
