Android Install?

Hi all, apologies if this duplicates.

I have tried in vain to install Android PC on to my ageing Gateway laptop. It has a 60 GB ssd and installs Windows 7 no problem. When I try and use the downloaded .iso images from the Android site I get as far as flashing a usb stick successfully, and the install proceeds fine with this, but when trying to boot the OS the machine hangs. A couple of times I've got the Android intro screen but no further.

Any ideas?

Best regards

Mart

Can you elaborate on exact versions please? Do old Android versions like Jelly Bean work for you?

Modern Android-x86 systems require lots of CPU instructions to work, some of which an old laptop CPU may lack. Also, some incompatible hardware can be a problem. Try to install it in a VM first; if you have the first problem, you won't be able to run Android even in a VM with hardware virtualization (emulation should work fine, but incredibly slow).
