ALIENWARE Sentia 223 wireless problems

I have an Alienware Sentia 223 with an intel 2200 B/G mini PCI card. I tried to dowload and install ipw2200 from sourceforge.net, but I can't get it to install properly. I am running Novell Linux Desktop. I am pretty new with linux. I was able to install the firmware_class, but that is as far as i was able to get. I'd appreciate any help. my router is a linksys wrt54g

I installed Suse9.3 on my new Uniwill223, which is the same machine as Sentia. Suse recognized that wireless during install and I don't need to install any drivers. Use Yast to configure your wireless. Yast->Network devices->Network Cards (IIRC, I'm not at home).

i tried to reinstall Novell Linux, but it doesn't recognize my card. I went in the network device manager, but there is no indication that the system actually configured the card. I tried to install ipw2200 1.0.0 but after i type make or makefile it rejects the command

found this thread via Google -- I'll be trying Linux out on my laptop soon -- I'm relieved to hear my card should "just work"
