Temperature vs Execution Times

Hi,

I am trying to find the relation between temperature and execution times for processes like FFT, Sorting and Matrix multiplication.
For this I have started these processes each from different starting temperatures like 50, 55, 60, 65 and 70 (in centigrade).
It was observed that the execution time decreased when the temperature was high( when a process was started from starting temperature of 65 or 70).
What can be the explanation for faster execution times at higher temperatures?

Note : I am using Intel Core 2 Due E6420 processor. Frequency scaling is turned off while execution.

Thanks and Regards,
Bijju Kranthi V

I would say it's the other way around, faster execution means a more busy system, which causes higher temperatures.
You should monitor the processor speed. in many systems it varies according to current load.
In turn, higher processor speed generates higher temperatures

Ya even I expected to be the other way around but after profiling I found that the processes are finishing faster at higher temperature. The processor should actually take more time at higher temperature as the load maybe high and fewer time slices maybe allocated to hot processes to lower the temperature of the core.
I have turned off the feature of varying processor speed using the linux tool "cpuspeed". So there is only one frequency at which the processor is running.
Still the processes are finishing faster and I am unable to find an explanation for this.
