SSD TRIM support on Linux

Has anyone heard about whether the kernel/fs modules will attempt TRIM support for SSD's. This is the page delete trimming option so SSD's don't slow down quite as much when you fill them with data. Kerneltrap.org seems to be toast, and google isn't much help. Any news is appreciated. Thanks.

hardware support before software support

The closest thing I found to information about SSD TRIM support was on a blog post about SSDs. The post seems to imply that file systems are already ready to support ATA TRIM for SSDs, but the vendors are holding back on hardware TRIM support.

Maybe it's hard to find talk about kernel-side TRIM support in SSDs because no SSDs support TRIM yet.

When Windoze (7) supports it, the vendors will get behind it. Linux will be ready - I see several git commits for TRIM related patches.
