number of calls to different routines


i am to calculate number of calls to different routines in linux kernel how to accomplish this task.....

It depends if you need the number of calls in the code (then simple grep) or the number of calls at runtime. In the second case, you may want to turn on gprof support in the kernel (in Kernel Hacking). It makes sense with UML (User Mode Linux) so you can easily see the results.
