need to access IP address info inside network driver

I am writing a network driver for bridging to a 6LoWPAN RF network. I need to obtain the IPv6 address of the interface from within the driver code so that the prefix can be set for the RF network.

Is there a way for driver code to be notified whenever an IP address is added or removed from the interface or for the driver to discover what addresses are currently set on the interface?

Thanks.

I'm not a developer, but maybe this device driver reference can help with answering your question.
