Question mulicast limit

Hi all,
i'm new in the forum, i'm using a linux device as multicast router with pimd installed.
I have two questions about that:
1) Does anyone know how and if it is possible to limit the rate in the dowstream interface? In the file ipmr.c exists a variable rate_limit as field in vif_device but i doesn't seem used really.
2)When a forward_cache is working for a certain (SG), the packets doesn't flow throug PREROUTING/POSTROUTINC chain right? so it is impossible any action like marking true ?

thank you
bruno
