mount-o remount

I have a receiver with following status:
1 - command mount :
rootfs on / type rootfs (rw)
/dev/root on / type squashfs (ro)
etc....
I need /dev/root writable using the following :

mount -o remount,rw /dev/root ; result , no errors , but /dev/root
rests at (ro) status !
More : /proc/mounts
rootfs / rootfs rw 0 0
/dev/root / squashfs ro 0 0
etc.

Any help is very welcome !
Thanks

It so happens squashfs is compressed read-only filesystem. To modify its contents you need to re-pack it.
