errors while compiling linux 2.4.21 kernel!!

i tried to compile 2.4.21 kernel ...but while making the bzImage the foll. errors occurred:

in usr/src/linux2.4.21/include/linux/smp.h ; error: conflivt type for 'smp_send_reschedule' (line 29)

and in the same file another error: previous declaration 'smp_send_reschedule' was here (line 42)

can you tell me how can i compile my kernel successfully?

P.S--i faced similar problems in 2.4.6 kernel.
i work on Fedora core 4 linux.

don't know about your problem but since you asked for help so read this tutorial to successfully compile the kernel.

It seems the problem is with SMP options under Processor type and Features. Could you provide the exact options that you choosed under that head? I don't know if it can help, but it can surely point somewhere.

And what is the exact hardware config of your system?
