error while inserting module into at91rm9200 kernel-2.6.21.6

Hi,
I am trying to insert a module into the kernel using insmod when I received the error
insmod: chdir(/lib/modules): No such file or directory
The is an insmod binary in /sbin. I also have expoted the path but inspite of that I am not able to insert the module.
Board at91rm9200
kernel on board -2.6.21.6
Is it the problem with binary in the board or the kernel module I am trying to insert.

Thanks and regards

Did you try modprobe instead of insmod?

Also Hardware is not a place for such questions,
these type of questions should be posted in Kernel
or the Programming section.

and the /lib/modules contains the kernel you are targeting?
Code:
[16:46:31 Wed Apr 27] /lib/modules $ls
2.6.31.14-0.6-debug 2.6.31.14-0.6-desktop 2.6.31.5-0.1-desktop
2.6.31.14-0.6-default 2.6.31.14-0.6-xen 2.6.31.8-0.1-desktop
[16:46:32 Wed Apr 27] /lib/modules $

Have you installed the kernel headers?

That package is named 'kernel-devel' in OpenSuse.
