Disable the usbcore

Hi

I am trying to build a driver for the a usb webcam. I am making use of the jungo development kit for the same. I have got a very basic driver ready now, but to test its functioning I need to make my system use my driver instead of the default driver present.
i have ubutnu 9.04 on my system, and every time i plug the cam in,
usbcore registers a driver named gspca_zc3xx. Though i remove it using rmmod, the next time i plug in the cam, the drivers get registered automatically by the usbcore module.
Any idea how can i stop this ? or can i tell usbcore module to use my driver instead of gspca_zc3xx. or can i disable usbcore ?

thanks
satish

Hi satish,

to prevent a kernel module from being loaded you can usually blacklist it. Add it to the end of /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf as "blacklist gspca_zc3xx". No clue about forcing your own driver to load though.
