Compiling Kernel Process
Hello,
I'm posting this post in regards to kernel make installation process. In my understanding, during the make module_install or make install process, there's a per distribution pre or post scripts that are included in the above processes. I would like to know where these scripts are usually located at or if anyone can point me to any relevant documentation detailing the process?
I'm attempting to pinpoint an issue regarding the naming of the kernel version; I'm expecting under 'uname -a', the kernel naming version to be 2.6.32.39-grsec but instead it's 2.6.32.39-desktop-grsec which is not specified in 'Makefile' and assuming there's a third party script which is modifying it. The Distro is OpenSuSE.
