cannot stat ... "modules.order" ... No such file or directory

I follow the instruction at http://www.vdd-project.org/index.php...d=20&Itemid=51 learning to build uml for testing customized kernel. However, when coming to the step

Code:
$ make modules_install INSTALL_MOD_PATH=/opt/uml/loop ARCH=um
The screen shows
Code:
sudo make modules_install INSTALL_MOD_PATH=/path/to/uml/loop ARCH=um
cp: cannot stat `/path/to/kernel/2.6.26/modules.order': No such file or directory
make: *** [_modinst_] Error 1
How can I solve this problem?

env

host: debian lenny kernel 2.6.24-etchhalf-1-686

guest: kernel 2.6.26

Thanks in advice.

I found out what cause this error. It is because I forget to make modules first.

exec

Code:
sudo make modules INSTALL_MOD_PATH=/path/to/uml/loop ARCH=um
then

moudule_install will work.
