Boot Loop - Linux Kernel 2.6.30.2

Good Day

We have a Nimble CS220 SAN Appliance which uses a live USB with Linux Kernel 2.6.30.2 - it is in a boot loop and i am unable to get the appliance back online.

This has happened in the past, however eventually boots correctly, this time not so lucky as its in a boot loop now for 48hours and counting.

It gets to the screen:

Booting 'Nimble Array Appliance Standard Boot'

[Linux-bzImage, setup=0x3000, size-0x2917e0

Then boot loops continuously

Below is the boot command:

Any advise on what i can try?

Thank You

Reboot is due to an error. Either the image is corrupt and not passing a self-test, or there is a failure on the array. You need to get a log to tell you what is going on. If you can edit the kernel command line, you can turn off quiet, increase the log level and direct it to an external console.

@smallpond - thank you for your response

I am pending delivery of a console cable and will be able to follow through with a log tomorrow.

Also i tried to replicate this on a VM by cloning one of the live USB's, i amended the boot command as per your instruction - below is what it does with in the VM

What happened to the OS between now and then? Probably nothing?
It does seem like corruption & old age is the only explanation.

Thank You to those who responded.

I managed to get the Nimble going - turned out to be a corrupt boot image.

To resolve - I cloned the live USB and done a file recovery using EaseUS to recover all files from the live USB.

I then made an iso image of the live USB, the boot image file from the iso created was inaccessible and corrupt.

From the file recovery - I found the boot image to not be corrupt. Repackaged all the files together with recovered image and created a new bootable live USB.

Plugged in to the appliance and booted up!
