adding reiser 4 support in kernel 2.6.7

Hello , I have mephis with kernel 2.6.7 and 2.4.26
I wanna add reiser4 support in its kernel , the reason i dont wanna upgrade to a kernel with its support (i think 2.6.1x kernels support reiser4) is that I wanna know how to apply patches (learn ) I googled it but I couldnot understand exactly
if someone can guide me it would be nice , I am willing to take huge risks
the website of reiser4 is
http://www.namesys.com/

They don't. Work on reiser4 is still in progress, and it could be some time before it is part of the standard kernel tree.

It appears that 2.6.9 is the earliest kernel for which you can get a reiser4 patch.

The patches are here:
ftp://ftp.namesys.com/pub/reiser4-for-2.6/
You need the one which corresponds to your kernel version.

The instructions here show you how to apply the patches:
http://www.namesys.com/install_v4.html#vanilla

Good luck!
