zoom 5610 cannot connect to adsl


ok got broadband today very happy can surf the net faster but i need the security of linux i would use windoze to set up icr but i use zonealarm free and it prevens icr. the modem is detected and i have tried to set up the contact details manual the problem is that i have been looking at the log and it keeps saying that the location of the modem does not exist i do plan to get a router later on but i need to use my computer as a router for a while first if you think you can help me out please do .

xp windoze/suse9.1 2.6.4 (not sure on last digit)
2500+ amd athalon barton
512mb ram
need more information just let me know
