Zip Disk Woas

I am hoping that someone out here can help me with this one. Originally I was having the pretty common issue of any zip disk that was formated with the FAT file system when placed in the drive going and erroring as not a valid block device. Probably didn't help that the disks are partitioned as extended on that one. Solved that by fdisking and reformatting the zip disks with ext3. The disks now mount beautifully. Now onto the next problem I had as well.

My disks don't want to eject from the drive either through xwindows or terminals. The light on it flashes as if it would be ejected but nothing happens after that. There are no errors with the command eject either. Unmounted it is the same story with the button on the drive. Linux is leaving the disk locked in the drive and the only way to get the disk out of all things is to remove and replace the ide cable a couple of times. This never happened under win 9x or 2k. The drive was working fine in another one of my computers a few weeks ago. I installed it when I reinstalled this puter and just got to getting it all set. This is my only problem left to deal with. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

I had the same problem with my SCSI zip 100 drive here. I can't remember what I did to fix the problem because this was over 2 years ago. I'm guessing it was a problem with the options in /etc/fstab. Take a look at my fstab entry and see how different this is from yours.

Code:
/dev/sdb4 /mnt/zip auto noauto,owner,kudzu 0 0
