Zaurus

Does SHARP have any plans on creating a better version of Zaurus PDA? I am looking to buy the PDA but I don't want to hear that a month later a new PDA came out.

The SL A300. The site is in japanese:

Linus and midori probably had something to do with it too. That markets ahem, big in japan.

According to the sales peron I talked to, SL A300 will not be coming out in USA but some Zaurus 6000 will before Christmas. Too bad, I really wanted Zaurus in October, now I need to wait for such long time.

sl-5600

while late on the thread, sharp has announced a forthcoming sl-5600 that includes an integrated speaker and microphone. ROM is now 64MB ram stays at 32. Not bad as long as OZ will work as OZ allows a R/W Rom instead of Sharp's R/O ROM

new Zaurus - the SL6000

The prototype pof th Zaurus 6000 has been shown already at the CTIA show in Las vegas.

heres some coverage about it
http://www.zaurususergroup.com/modul...rder=0&thold=0

Features :
* Integrated wifi!, yes this Zaurus will have integrated wifi
* Integrated bluetooth, not only wifi, but bluetooth as well!
* It has a larger 4 inch CG Silicon screen
* Along with the larger screen comes a larger Zaurus overall. I can't comment on exact dimensions, but it's much larger than the 5x00 models.
* It still comes with the defacto SD and CF slots
* It has USB host, check out the USB connector on the bottom (right side)
* It will have a sled, which will of course greatly increase it's size, but also provide an additional CF slot and battery extender!.
* Rotation on the fly, when you press and hold the 'light' button, the screen will rotate to landscape
* It is designed to be more rugged, and can withstand a drop from approximately 1 meter.
* It will have 64mb ROM (like the 7x0 series), and either 64 or 128 mb RAM. Supposedly the amount of RAM hasn't quite been finalized.
