Question xvidtune question

Hi guys

Got X installed with the new NVidia drivers, but the screens arent lining up properly.

Now i,ve run xvidtune in $LFS but I cant quite figure it out, it seems to take forever to get something resembling the correct size, then it runs out of limits, and wont let me go any further.

My monitor specs are as follows...

TAXAN ERGOVISION975 TCO 95
Bandwidth 135Mhz
H.Scan Frequency 30-95 kHz
V.Scan Frequency 50-150 Hz

The resolutions that I want are ....

800x600@75hz or 85hz
1024x768@85hz

and maybe

1600x1200@75hz

It states in the manual that these are all supported VESA modes except for the second option for 800x600.

Now I thought that because Mandy is working ok at 1024x768 that I would get the settings from there, which are..

Modeline "1024x768" 94.50 1024 1072 1168 1376 768 769 772 808 +hsync +vsync

But when I transfer these settings over and using twm the screen doesnt quite line up, and the picture extends off the screen by around 6 inches. If I move my mouse to the right edge of the screen, the screen scrolls as I said about 6inches until I can see the very edge.

I can line up the top and left edges correctly, but it still scrolls.

Can anyone help me sort this out??

Thx guys

Its ok guys problem solved.

Really simple actually.

It appears as though you can only set up the maximum resolution that you intend to work with, if you set one up higher, then the desktop will allways be that that size and you have to scroll.

Hope that makes sense.
