xserver with old hardware

Hello!
I am trying to install xserver on a 166MHz and 64MB RAM debian/testing with kernel 2.4.27 machine. When I run startx X is not starting.

From the /var/lod/XFree86.0.log I get this.
Quote:
(II) VESA: driver for VESA chipsets: vesa
(II) Primary Device is:
(WW) VESA: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:0:10:0) found

In
Quote:
Section "ServerLayout"
Identifier "Default Layout"
Screen "Default Screen"
InputDevice "Generic Keyboard"
InputDevice "Configured Mouse"
InputDevice "Generic Mouse"
EndSection
I have these entries.

Quote:
$ lspci -v |grep VGA
0000:00:0a.0 VGA compatible controller: S3 Inc. 86c968 [Vision 968 VRAM] rev 0 (prog-if 00 [VGA])
Can someone help me out.

In your X config, there should be a line with BusID, then a number separated by colons. Try changing that number to 1:0:0

I don't have a line with BusID in my XFConfig86-4 but I added the line
Quote:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Generic Video Card"
Driver "vesa"
BusID "PCI:1:0:0"
EndSection

Output error remains the same. Seems like that the connection to the video card via the PCI bus does not work properly

(WW) Open APM failed (/dev/apm_bios) (No such file or directory)
(WW) VESA: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:0:10:0) found
(WW) VESA: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:32:0:0) found
(WW) VESA: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:32:1:0) found
(WW) VESA: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:32:2:0) found
....
(WW) VESA: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:33:25:0) found

I run dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 to create a new XFConfig86-4 but still not working.
